Just a quick note, so you all don't think I dropped off the planet.
My dear and beloved brother passed away today. He had gone in for a procedure to cut a small piece of skull out to relieve the pressure and swelling in the brain. It was just too much,the pressure too great. He was pronounced brain dead and as per his wishes, my sister in law had his life support switched off. It is a great shock and sadness, the last 4 days have been like a bad dream, in fact it still feels like a bad dream. I am surprised I have the strength to write this, but I know a lot of you will be wondering and thank you for your support. Even though we have never met, it still means a lot to me. I won't be going over to NZ anymore. My sister in law will be coming over in a few months time. We will be having a memorial service her for him too.
Keep those you love safe and tell them every second you love them. I am so grateful I have no regrets and my memories of him are all good. He was here for 4 wonderful weeks in December and we had the best holiday ever. I will always cherish that as long as I live.

So sorry for your loss, we lost my brother-in-law 18mths ago to a brain stem bleed, the 3 days leading up to his life support being turned off were horrendus. It is so awful, no words can describe what it is like to loose some-one so healthy & vital so suddenly. My thoughts are with you & your family at this sad time.
Oh my gosh Bonnie. I just read Jen's post on her blog that your brother was ill then I came here and saw your post about him passing away. What a terrible and tragic shock to hear that and so suddenly too :( We had a male friend who also had a serious anurism a few years back and he was pretty bad for a while but made it through and he now gets regular checkups which have all been clear. He was the same - young, fit and healthy so it's a shock to have happen to your lovely brother. I'm thinking of you and all your family and hope that you can take a break with his family when they come over and say your last goodbyes to him. Big hugs Bonnie :)

Bonnie, I am so very sad to read of the death of your brother. Who would have thoght a few months ago the wonderful time you were all sharing and now this. Life is so cruel. Treasure those times you spent together.
