cards, scrap pages and laundry room tiling.

Hello! It's been a while I know! I have been so busy with the kids because it's holidays and we are busy with a lot of different things. I am also holding kids art classes once a week and a weekly ladies scrap book class, so things are busy! But in a good way!

I finished the tiling for my laundry room! Well actually I attempted it twice and got so frustrated and fed up as it was just not working! So I called for help in the form of my brilliant mom in law who is a pro at tiling. I have tiled before-I tiled a floor area and I tiled two showers (floor and walls) so I know how to do it, but with mosaics it is a different story as each little block shifts!
So she came to my rescue and then later on when it was dry, I grouted it myself.
And then my hubby got me this rather industrial shelving unit for the laundry room, but it is in a nice cream and it had wooden shelves, so I covered them in a vintage type wipe able roll-on backing. And he is going to make me a wooden strip for the edges to hide those ugly holes.

close up of the surface I used to cover the shelves.
Moving on....I made these two cards last week.

I really like how this once came out.

And last night I did two scrap pages. I used my new hand made embellishments which I sell at Etsy
I am making complete page sets, so everything you need for one scrap book page-flowers, ribbon, buttons, etc.

This is another page I did-I stuck a card stock over a paper and then tore it here and there, made it messy and did some sewing on a piece too.

I must say, I love this look!! It's like a messy vintage look!
Anyway that's all I have to share this week and I hope you all have a super weekend!!

Good job on the tiling Bonnie - looks good! The shelving unit will look great when it's finished and so handy!

Liked your cards and pages - you have some great ideas there!

The tiles look wonderful and I give you a high five for doing it yourself...and for asking for help...been there before ;) The paper on the shelves is great and I like the color of the shelving. I've seen other blogs where they have used vintage "yard sticks" as covering for their shelving ends (holes) if that makes sense? AND where you like vintage and shabby/chic I thought that it would give you something to think about. Sounds like your classes/workshops are going well and that is great to hear. I'm off to relax for the weekend...need a salty margaritta tonight! Take care, fondly, Roberta

I'm working on life with a friend, we've labeled papers, "What's working in my Life" and What's not working in my Life", one of my action calls this week was to clean a closet as a start to "cleaning my space" a metaphor for life! I choose to clean my dresser drawers today and thru out the faded, dingy, stained, and well worn. The ones I just don't wear are going for donation and I've seperated the rest in my drawer by season. Feels good. My laptop harddrive died so it's away for another week getting new "guts" so I might as well get some of my chore pile up whittled down! Thanks for the inspiration. redjanfan

I like the color of tile you chose and those delicate little flowers on the shelf liner are precious.

Beautiful cards, and fabulous layouts! I like the way you distressed the paper in the second layout. I have to say that my fav is the first layout, though. The colors, the bracket shape, and the letters and flowers are all just the bomb!
