shoe heaven {+knit leg warmer pattern}

They came today...my shoes.
I bought them on bidorbuy.

I tried them on as well as some "idea" clothing sets of what to wear when we go to Paris.

with the crocheted fingerless mittens I crocheted.

Like walking on clouds... {surprisingly}
It was hot today but I didn't want to take them off...

Oh and I wanted to show these leg warmers I crocheted too. They are super chunky. I used two skeins of yarn 4.5g a chocolate brown and my favorite green.

PATTERN
Cast on 20 stitches with the two skeins.
I used 12mm knitting needles.
Knitted them 1 row knit, 1 row pearl until desired length.
I left the one side loose and the other side I just did a row of single crochet around to make it a bit tighter. (the part that sits under your new)

My blanket is coming on nicely...I managed about 10 squares today.

I have a question in ending this post....

So the cat is out the bag...hubby and I are going on a romantic week-long break to Paris. {Please don't hate me!} I have been before but it was only for about 8 hours! I took the Eurostar from London to Paris for the day with two of my best friends. It was amazing and I really thought it was the first and last time I would ever see Paris...so I am thrilled to be going back for 8 whole days and nights with my hubby!!! {kids will be with a trusted friend of mine}.

We are going to be in Paris for 4 days and nights and then 3 nights in Chennonceau visiting the chateaux {hiring a car and driving there} and then the last night back in Paris.

So my question is....March is pretty cold in Paris this time of year yeah? Do I need like really thick jackets, hats, gloves, scarves, or could I wear what I want to wear like in the above photos?
(those are thick legging type stockings, not just ordinary stockings) I realize I might need a jacket over all of that.

I heard three words for when I go: layer, layer and layer.

{last time I did not get a chance to see any of the main attractions ie up the Eiffel Tower or the Lourve}.

Any suggestions on what clothing to wear would be appreciated and if you have been before, what did you enjoy and what would you skip?

LOVE the shoes and the outfits ;) You will probably be cold in Paris in March because it's so warm where you live in Africa...especially now that it is summer there ;) Another blog friend is also going to Paris this spring so you might want to check out her blog. Mary Ann Moss of Dispatch from LA...she makes the BEST travel journals. She's been like twice before and is going again...she rents houses when she goes and might have some great ideas for things to see ;) I'M SO DARN JEALOUS OF BOTH YOU BLOGGERS...LOL Fine...just kidding...not{wink}

Good for you Bonnie! Im sure you'll feel cool, I was there in April and had a light spring coat and was still chilly. The top of the Eiffel Tower was REALLY windy. The best thing we did was a dinner cruise on the Seine, with Bateaux Mouche, fab food, huge lights on the boat light up both banks, there are statues under the bridges!! |WE went up and down the river past the Louvre, Notre Dame, The EiffelTower etc. 1/2 doz times. More time in the Louvre, we only did one day, needed at least three, I love art! Biggest regret... not going to the Jeu de Pomme, home of the French Impressionist collections! Best Food -- lobster mayonaise on the Bateaux, or the strawberries chantilly near the Eiffel Tower and of course crepes in the park beside Champs de Lisay. You may need an umbrella in March, we did in April. The metro is definately the cheapest way to get from A to B and avoid the hassel of parking.
The Loire valley is so wonderful and Channonceau is a jewel, I loved it there. Villandres is also wonderful. My spelling is likely off, sorry. Some of the best cafes are on Tuesdays (when museums are closed) but their cafes are open and you can sit in their gardens in the sun, weather co-operating.
There is no better magic than Paris in spring.

Oh yay yay yay ! I guessed right! You are so lucky and you are going to LOVE your trip! Your outfits are so fun! Love the shoes (tho I hope you can walk lots in them! - For me flats are preferable- I simply can't walk in those fab heels!) I am going to send you an email with tips on Paris. I spent a week there 3 years ago with 2 friends, one is actually French and lived in Paris for 10 years, so it was super neing with her.
I am so jealous I can scream, you're the second person I know going to Paris in March! {sigh} Paris in Spring- how romantic!

PS - Chenonceau is awesome! I've been there too (but way back in 1990) - the chateau is so unbelievable and the whole Loire valley is simply breathtaking.
