Hello!!
So I guess you could say that I am a bit of a eco-girl. You know "green", "environmentally friendly"...yup, that's me.
I do my share of recycling, I up-cycle, I reuse, re-purpose and re-invent.
I am always trying to think of ways to use my "trash".
I had a good idea (not original by any means!) to reuse tin cans and make them into planters.
I've been wanting to do this for a while. So recently I cleaned cans, took off the paper and painted the cans inside and out with a white acrylic paint and left to dry.
Once the cans were dry I then used ordinary craft paint and got busy with pinks and green.(was "feeling" the pink and green combo that day!)
Left to dry...
Had to wait a few days for the weather to clear and then went into the garden to put some plants into them! I had some plants that had self seeded and were growing in strange places, which I plucked out and re planted and I also took some cuttings from my Geraniums and planted them.
A few days of rain later and they are doing fine in their new little homes!
Oh and the table is a table I designed and "helped" hubby to make.
I wanted something used from the piles of planks we had lying at the back of the house, going to waste. The wood was old, some warped, and perfect for a rustic looking "not-perfect" potters table! So a while ago hubby wiped it up for me according to my instructions in an afternoon (probably in about 2 hours!) and now I have my very own potters table!

How clever are you. I think your reinvented tins look fabulous and if I lived in a house, I would have tried this myself. Thanks for sharing.
I am so going to pinch this idea. The tins look great painted and with the plants in them. One way to have less landfill.
