Today I thought I would share my craft room with you lovely ladies. Let me start by saying that it is not often I even get to see it like this! I work very messily and often just close the door and leave it! (shhh)
I actually don't get it. I am normally quite an organized person. I can tell you where everything is in my home, what cupboard to find it in. I tidy and clean my home on a daily basis and cannot stand clutter. Why then is my craft room the only room in the house that is often so untidy? Alas, I have no answers!
I do love it when it is tidy and neat and organized! I just want to get in there and make a mess! ha ha!
So quite a while ago, I had two tables in here and then we had guests and I moved one of the tables out to put in our guest suite. I just wasn't coping with the lack of table space though, so yesterday I moved it back.
{will now have to buy another smaller table for the guest suite!}
Why two tables you may ask? Well...I do scrap booking, I sew, I work on the computer...try doing all 3 of those and at the same time making custom orders on one table! So two tables it is! (Plus I get to hide all my junk under one of them!)
In the above photo, I came across a fab idea for storing lace, ribbon etc. I bought these really cheap wooden sticks (reminds me of going to the dentist and he says "say ahh")I love it, though, such a nice idea!
Just got my order in of 150 wooden spools! I have BIG plans for these babies!
Here is the other table. My printer and sewing machine is on there and more craft stuff. To the left, (which you can't see in the pic) is a bookshelf laden with box's that store all kinds of
Ribbon, lace, twine, trim...sigh...♥
washi tape(seriously low on washi tape!!)
Behind the door I have another bookshelf.(so that is two in the room) It houses all my books and photographs (hence I didn't show it) photos of family and friends.
On the shelf I have this plate rack AKA storage holder for all my Journals that I sell.
Some more shop items...tags, journals, paper bunting, lots of goodies
And then the view from the other table. This is actually quite a dark room and I can't ever open the curtain as it faces directly onto the road. In winter this room is the coldest in the house and in summer the hottest!
This room used to be our guest room and then it was my home salon for a few years, then it was the kids play room, then back to a guest room and now it has been my craft room for a few years. I feel very blessed and am very grateful to have a room all to my own. Creating is something very important to me. It keeps me sane! It's my "happy place". When I am sad or stressed, It is so good to go in there and sit down, even if for just a few minutes and create something.
Before I had this room, I used the dining room table and I hated it, (as I mentioned before, I am not the neatest when creating!) and there was stuff left on the table for

So that is it! my craft room! I hope you enjoyed seeing where I create!
I would love to hear your thoughts-what is your favorite thing about my craft room?
Before I go, I have a couple of these I found, left over from a baby shower I gave last year, leave a comment if you want them and I will randomly pick someone to send them to! I think I have about 8)
They will obviously be flat packed when you get them and since it was a year ago I made them, the double sided tape is slightly showing through. But hey, if you want them, they are free!

Bonnie, rhank you for showing your craft-room, I got some ideas for organizing my stash!
Hey bon, its looking good! I am very envious of you having a whole room to yourself, i don't have anywhere to create! My kitchen table is tiny and when i've hauled my sewing machine out i hardly have any room to manoeuvre! Its very frustrating and although i've kept some papercraft stuff from when we moved, i have nowhere to work really, until we build Jess' cabin and then she moves, then one day i'll have my own space!!
I would have it a terrible mess i know as i used to keep my old craft 'room' a mess/dumping ground!!
I remember staying in that room when i came to you! I thought it a lovely fresh room! Love the pretty curtains and tablecloth. And i really like the way you've organised your ribbons and laces. Well done bon. Xx love Em xx
Yes, I would love these lovely thank you's. I can certainly put them to good use, I always have little goodies to give away.
Ah, I am not so bold as to show my work space. It's organized by project, to say the least!
Thanks for sharing.
Hi Bonnie, thanks for the peep into your world. Love the ceramic floor, makes brush up so much easier. My room is also my office for our business, and it is stacked floor to ceiling with "stuff", an upright freezer and my office armoire as well. I'm not great at filing so always have a paper stack in my way too. Can't move in their sometimes, no wonder I digi create more!
Its so pretty, neat and organized! Cherye kicked me out of mine, and now I have the spare room, but its boring and I need to organize it and make it MINE!!
I love the way you organize! My craft space is the total opposite :)
