Remember I said (okay so it was a few months ago) that I would show you photo's of a lovely place I went to (twice) this year? Finally I am doing it! Looking back over my blog, I stumbled upon one of my own posts and realized I never did post those pictures! (tut tut)
Babylonstoren is a beautiful old Cape Dutch farm. The gardens are incrediable-you could literally spend a whole day there just exploring their amazing gardens.
I took my dad and my kids there in January this year and then we went again when I had family to stay in February.
This is a lovely thyme lawn. You are encouraged to take off your shoes and walk barefoot on this lush and fragrant lawn. Of course we did!
They have a bakery on the premises...love this gorgeous ribbon!

An amazing selection of fruit is grown in the gardens. I spotted apples, pears, plums and figs.

Excuse the flare in this one,I added that in to hide my niece's face. Just to give you an idea of the adorable little "nests" they had for kids to sit and play in! Mine didn't want to leave.

South Africa has a lot more diversity than I had realized. Love your photos from holidays as they really showcase how lovely your country is. How like ours and yet unlike too. Where I live in Canada is semi desert and very hot and dry as a result. Yet we get snow and cold in winter too. We are surrounded by many lakes and are on the confluence of two major rivers that meet in our central park. We have many orchards and cattle ranches, as well a 7 championship golf courses and a terrific ski hill. Global warming has had a rash of experiments in vinyards!
