That vintage Pyrex dish takes me back a long time ago!
Beautiful!
Ahh love all your vintage finds! Remember 'grannies' were young once too, and they carried on their style through their life, so its really 'time-less pretty' chic!!
My mum got that book too i adore the caravans in it!
Thinking of you and hope you feel much better today xxxx
You are right Em, I guess we have become accustomed to the thought that only grannies crochet, knit, bake and do other homely things, when in fact, it was always that way among woman. Woman have chosen to either pursue or forget these timeless skills.
LOL Bon, you are a granny!!As I have always said, you were born in the wrong era!!Nothing wrong with that. The things that make me happy, my 4 children still living at home, and doing everything with us, their friends calling me their second mom, my dogs knowing its bed time and on the bed before me, its such a comfort to hear them snore at night. My daughter being my best friend, having a few close wonderful friends, my husband doing all the cooking on weekend and holidays, he loves it as much as I hate it, and he does all the grocery shopping.Being fit and healthy at my old age, and that I will be a granny in 2 months (a real granny LOL)Those are just a few things that make me happy...
I love the same things you love, and yup I'm a Granny, but in my case I have the Grandkids and wrinkles to back me up! In your case, one look at you and your gorgeous face and no one could mistake you for a Granny! Some of these things and activities take us back to a more genteel way of life that only Grannies can remember, and it is so sad. A lot of "grace" has been lost from the world, and only available to people of wealth and distinct tastes. The bone china our parents loved costs the earth now and our kids mostly cannot afford it. How can they love what is so uncommon and unfamiliar? Pursuits like crochet, embroidery, hardanger, pulled work all take time and diligence which an instant digital age doesn't appear to value as much as video games, social networking and hanging out at clubs (bowling alleys, pubs, gyms, raves etc etc.) Those of us who care must hold the torch high enough to light the way for those who cannot see it from where they are in the plastic wasteland of our lives.
