Sunday we woke up and hubby made another delicious breakfast.
During Breakfast we watched the bird life..pheasants came to eat the bread we threw to them...
See all the little white things on the ground by them? They are tiny little white flowers that fell from the trees. See below...
The kids wanted to play at the park, so off they went and I joined them for a quick see-saw!
And took some photo's of more flowers...(as if I hadn't seen enough already!)
I then made some rolls for the trip back...
We packed up...by "packing" I mean re-arranged things around in the caravan! It was bliss not having to dismantle our big tent which takes us a good hour to two hours to do as it is packing up all the stuff in the tent and the tent itself! We agree next time we go away on a short weekend like this, we won't take it with!
We first went for a walk on the beach. Not so cold, but still chilly!
Collected some spotty pebbles...
Admired the pastel shells but didn't take any home this time as my home already is full of shells from past holidays!
Hitched the caravan and left for home. Stopping along the way to eat the rolls I had prepared..
And of course taking a few photo's of some more flowers.
Darling is a cute place. We stopped in at Evita Se Person.
If you are South African you will know of this famous person and even if you aren't, perhaps you have heard about her? We grew up with watching her on TV.
I said to my hubby "There is my darling in Darling!" (hee hee)
There was a cute garden called "Boerassic Park" Again South African terminology. The word "Boer" is Afrikaans for "farmer"
The park is a tribute to the people who lived (and suffered) during the Apartheid era in South Africa.
I grew up in this era but funny enough, I don't recall seeing signs like this one below...
I don't think it was something I thought about as I was brought up being taught all people, regardless of race, nationality, color, religion, status etc etc are equal. It is still hard to believe that our country went through such a terrible time and that so many were treated so unjustly and unfairly. Nobody has the right to say their race is more important or better than another race. Anyway....
This cute ginger kitty followed us around....
We also popped in next door to an open public garden which was very pretty...
Lastly we left on our trip home and went through one of my favorite town's on the way back, Franschhoek.
(Meaning "corner of France") Having gone to France myself it really is like being in a little French town.
We stopped for a coffee (me) and milkshakes (the rest) and enjoyed this lovely scene before finally heading home....
I hope you enjoyed touring with me!
I am working on writing out a tutorial for my Granny square blanket as I had a few requests and I will still get around to the crocheted frame tutorial...(can't promise when!)
Thanks for stopping by, would love to hear from you.
