New Digital Paper pack-Joie de Vie.

Hello!

Every once in a while, something amazing happens, like me creating a digital paper pack! I stopped "officially" designing quite a while ago now, but I still dabble from time to time in digital designs. Mostly custom orders for blog graphics, business cards, Etsy shop sets, labels and so on.

However, I made this paper pack (the first in about two years!). Designing like this again, for this brief moment, reminded me why I stopped in the first place! As much as I enjoy it, it is really time consuming. I much prefer to just design something when the mood strikes me, as well as not follow any trends as I am really not a trend-follower. I like to move at my own pace and I guess my heart lives in the country somewhere, surrounded by wild flowers, berry bushes and little earthy paths that wonder off between the trees. Barefoot and wearing a floating, breezy dress that billows out behind me as I walk along with my little basket, laden with a book, my crochet and a few snacks. And skipping happily beside me, my two kids and just for general good measure, our cat following behind us all....

*back to reality*

So yes, I have designed a paper pack. It is called "Joie de Vie" (Joy of Life)and is inspired by spring, my love of nature and blossoms and a little bit of french flair thrown in for old times sake! All papers are, of course, 12 x 12 pixels and are 300dpi.

I am also giving away a free paper for 6 days that you can add to this kit. The free papers are made using some images that are free, but not for commercial use (hence I cannot sell them). I will you will enjoy them and be sure to come back each day until you have all 6 papers.

Download here

If you want the kit, it is available here in my Etsy shop.
I also accept EFT payment for those of you here in South Africa. Cost of the kit is R30. (Just email me and I will send you my banking details.)

The Seasons: New Journals.

Hello!

I am so excited to showcase my newest products, available right now in my Etsy shop!
I have been happily and busily creating when the days are dark, rainy and cold (which they have often been lately!) I think my new journals show just how much I need spring to come!

They scream with life, vibrant colors, roses, birds, flowers!
The funny thing I sort of created a journal for each season. All without consciously thinking of it!

There is an Autumn Splendor Journal...

A Vintage Winter Journal...

A Spring Journal...

A Summer rose Journal...

A set of handmade tags

A Aqua and Tangerine Mini album kit:

On the weekend we had some lovely weather, for a change, which included lot's of soaking up the sun, taking photo's, crochet and generally enjoying the sun and warmth!

Check back this week for photo's of some projects I did on the weekend (crochet).
Looking forward to sharing those.

Thanks for stopping by and if you feel so inclined, here is a small GC to spend in my shop. Enter coupon code: BLOGAUGUST for a 10% discount valid for two days only.

Handmade Goodness

Hello friends.
I write this post with a glass of wine beside me, the gas heater as near to me as possible. The rain is pelting outside. It's so cold, I have on two pairs of socks, a pair of leggings under my denim jeans, two shirts and a jersey and a few icicles hanging from my nose...Yes...my friends, I declare-it is cold.

I have been creating a bit lately, all goodies to go into my Etsy shop. Some new experiments which I was so happy with. I have made and sold a lot of mini journals (8x8) Normally from card, stitched with machine and then embellished. I tried my hand at paper bag albums (same size) and was pleasantly surprised! While a lot more work, I must say, I enjoyed the result and think they would make an awesome album, or a memorabilia journal!

With a craving to hand stitch, I also set about making some stuffed hearts, they make cute decorations to hang in your home. I have so many of these around my home-on my bedroom cupboards, dresser, linen cupboard- Just about everywhere! I just love seeing them, they add a little bit of charm and cottage vintage flair!

I also have a new product which, depending on how they sell, I will make more of, although I think I will machine stitch next time! They are fabric bookmarks. I have a few more to finish up and add to the shop.

So paper bag albums, stuffed hearts and bookmarks are the new goodies in the shop.
I also have FREE shipping on selected items.

Don't forget I also sell Digital products, digital scrap booking sets, digital journal cards, ATC sheets, Etsy shop sets and lots more!

see you there! x

Photo Editing applications {+more instagram pics}

{ story of photos: We have a new bakery that has opened up in our local mall and I bought some macaroons and the tart to try. The Bakery looks just like a French Patisserie. I thought I was back in Paris for a while! They tasted delicious!}

Just sharing a few photo's of the week. Remember I said I joined Instagram? Just to clarify as there were some that said they thought it was just a photo editing tool. Well it is a photo editing tool-on your phone! You can download it on itunes for free if you have an iphone and through the play store on your anroid phone (It isn't available on BB).

You can take a pic and apply a filter and upload it straight away to FB, Twitter and your Instagram account. The cool thing is that you don't have to upload the pics you add filters to. It saves a copy in it's own folder on your phone's gallery called "Instagram".

You can also upload other photos not taken with your phone to your phone from your USB and apply filters to those.

If you are looking for other cool filter app's that work well with iphone you can take a look at Dear Lizzy -she has just done a cool post on different app's.

{story behind pics: top left : making stiry-fry for dinner; top right: dinner tonight was homemade pizza. I cheat and make the dough in my bread machine, then simply roll it out later, add some tomato paste to the base, toppings like pineapple, ham, tomato, olives, mozz cheese, garlic and pepper and in the oven for 15 min. tastes totally yum and is a fraction of the prize of take-out pizza! Plus I enjoy making them!
Bottom left: An order ready to go out Bottom right: a page in my Paris Journal}

{story behind pics: It is freezing here, so I had three layers on a scarf. The Patisserie I was talking about earlier. Don't they look totally divine?!}

For Anroid users You can download Retro Camera, pudding camera and phonto (add text to your photo - many fonts, sizes, tilting etc) Camera360 and Pixlr-o-Matic (this one is fantastic! It has way more effects and frames than Instagram!)

The photo below is done with phonto.

If you have a BB. Go to your app world and download MOLOME-very basic but some nice effects. Pixtrix is also a good one and photo studio.

Moving on...

8x8 scrap kits in action

I thought I would share a few pages of a 8x8 album I did last week.
I used the papers I sell in my shop. (although these particular papers are not the ones in the kit, but they are ones I have designed and printed). I wanted to show what they look like with all the ribbon, lace and tags in the kits.

I kept the pages very simple, just a few embellishments like washi tape, buttons and lace.
I told you I would find a way to use those organza flowers I made!
A little glassine bag with a tag in it and a bird in a nest on 3d foam. More washi tape (am in love with it!)
One of the tags in the kit, machine stitched with a little pocket for a tag.

And all the pages in my album. Just need to put it together now!

I hope you had a good weekend, what did you get up to?
