Just a short post today....

I am quiet sick...been in bed most of the day..but there is only so much of that I can take!
I wanted to post the LO I did for Jenni! With her two brand new kit's! The first one is called Dear Diary. (available at Digital Candy) Jen loves her bright colors! I did this one of my son when he was 10 months old.

Here is one of a friend of mine and me and I used her "Secret Window" kit
As well as the following two...was for the sketch challenge at Digital candy..not crazy about them, but anyway.....I rarely do sketch challenges, I find them very restrictive....I like to do my own thing! Even when I scrap lift,I start off with just one thing I liked about the lay out I want to lift, and then I go off on my own tangent! lol! By the time I am done with it, it hardly resembles the LO I was lifting!!

Anyway..off to flush my head in the toilet..maybe then I won't feel like a bus has driven over me!

Me a bad blogger? so it would seem!

I know, it's been ages since I last posted! I must admit I was sort of relishing in the laziness of it all! But you know you've been a bad blogger when you start getting email's "Is everything alright? I haven't seen a post in a while? are you sick?" ha ha. Thanks Em!! ha ha.
So I got off my butt today and here I am!
We've had such weird weather lately. Now, it is supposed to be Spring, by this time last year we were crawling around the floor, tongues lolling out, desperately searching for water and saying "Water-I need water". Get the picture? IT was HAWT. Sure, this year, we've had a few hot days, but nothing that makes you want to strip naked running into the sea! (okay people, I have NOT done this!)This weekend for instance has been one long tedious miserable week of rain, cold, socks and endless cups of coffee to try and stay warm! I don't get it!

Now onto some photos I took recently at our local nature reserve:
This is the little museum and tourist information center.

Some birds. I was fortunate to get these nice shots.

This bird had some bread in its mouth. We were throwing the bread into the reeds next to the river and watching them come swopping from afar to get to the bread.

This is quite a funny photo, I got the bird in a half-flying, half-landing motion. He looks so sweet! Just after I took this, these two had a real "Barney" over a piece of bread! ha ha.

We also saw these tortoises-amazing. I think this was the first time I had seen a tortoise in the wild.

Another nice shot of these Cape Weaver birds-again the one with it's back to us has bread in its mouth. Greedy little fellows! ha ha.

This beautiful bridge with all these lovely purple blossoms.

Me posing on the bridge! haha

I must say I am fascinated with birds and with nature as a whole. I guess I have always been like that, but I find as I get older, I appreciate it more and more and just being surrounded by beauty and nature in its purest form, really touches me on a deep level. I think it is because we are supposed to be at one with nature and it is in our instincts to feel like that. I always try and get the kids to really take a closer look to and like to point out small things like lady birds. They also really have a love for it. Going to the nature reserve is one of our favorite things to do.

Okay well I promise to be a good girl and try and blog more regularly again!

Just to reward you for your patience and lucky you if you managed to make it to the end of this post, cos here is a little freebie for you!
While we don't have snow here in South Africa, well we do, but it never reaches the ground! I wanted to do this for those of you who do and to scrap your winter photos. It has nothing to do with Christmas, since I personally don't celebrate it. It was made purely with winter/snow photos in mind. Thanks and enjoy.

DOWNLOAD HERE
PLEASE LEAVE SOME LOVE IF YOU DOWNLOAD AND PLEASE DON'T SHARE THE LINK OR THE FREEBIE IN ANY PART OR FORM.I would love to hear from you if you download. Thanks so much.

It is called Snowy Days and has 3 papers, a snowman and some snowflakes-brrr makes me cold! We don't get snow here, so it is nice to do something like this!!
The last time I was in snow was about 12 years ago! My kids have never been in snow-arw!
Also if you like this, sign up for the Snap and scrap newsletter HERE, cos Jenni and I have put together a freebie for it!

Swaps, giveaway and lots more

Lot's to say today! (ha ha,makes a change!)
First my quote...{Yes you are welcome to download and use these, please give credit when using them}.Click on it to view full size.

I love this quote...It has a lot to do with the 21 challenge I am doing at the moment too. Sometimes it is harder changing and being the person that makes you the happiest, than carrying on in your normal way of living because it is easier that way. I have been breaking a habit and making a new one the past 2 weeks. Some days are harder than others, but for the most I have been pretty good with it. I have a few pages of Rhonna's challenge to catch up on which I am going to do tonight, so hopefully I can post those tomorrow.

Okay so first of all some recent pics of my flowers growing so nicely...

This morning I got out a dress of my daughters and wanted to try and see if I could copy it. Note: I can sew-I have a diploma in Interior Decorating, I make all my own cushion covers, bed covers, quilts, blinds and curtains but as far as clothes go-I have no clue! I don't know how to read a pattern and I have never made anything with RE to clothes before. Well I tried today and it came out quite sweet! Here she is wearing it! It has a lace collar and lace sleeves with a small ruffle to them. I still have to sew the hem and iron it.
Giveaway!!!!

And now for a giveaway. I feel like being generous! This is a little hamper I have put together.
It is South African goodies : Rooibos tea, milo( a nice chocolate energy drink), 2 sauce packets for two traditional South African recipes - Tomato Breedie and Babotie (both yummy and you have them with rice.) Alice's appricot sweets (I used to eat these as a child all the time-they are the orange sweets/candy)
A PS chocolate made by Cadbury's. It says "Never give up" on the wrapper. A packet of Eet-sum-more biscuits (shortbread) Jambo's (blackcurrant jam centers) A pack of on-the-go energy crunch (low GI) A Cd made by me of a few of my fav songs; 2 pink tea light candles; a couple of pretty decoupage serviettes; 9 ATC's made by me; Some love quotes on velum.

All you have to do is leave a comment on my blog (PLEASE STATE that you would like to go into the drawing) between now and the 19th October. One comment is enough to enter. I need your name, your contact email address or blog address. Without this you will not be entered into the drawing. I will announce the winner on the 20th October and mail it out anywhere in the world after the 25th October.
SWAPS

I am also in urgent need of new art supplies. By that I mean scrap booking embellishments,(NO PAPERS) stickers, rub-ons, transfers, images, tags, etc. I have figured out the best way to do this is to do a swap. I have done so many and I always receive the nicest things. Since I don't have a supply of these kind of things myself, I am offering to swap two packages with two people for a trade for what I need.
The first package consists of fabric samples, decoupaged serviettes, cord, ribbon, a meter each of vintage wallpaper (for crafting not wallpapering!)a hand made card. I can and am willing to add more, depending on the person.
The second package is for someone looking for something to do with an anverssary or a gift for a loved one. It consists of two cards I made (both with quotes in velum in the inside) heart packing, two tea light candles, a "I love you" PS chocolate , red rose serviette. Again, I can add to this too.
I am looking for the following to trade:
>Birds, butterflies and wings (any kind-paper, fabric etc) Like on tags, stickers, rub-ons. etc
> Vintage stuff : frames, postcards, fabric
> Roses- anything with roses on.
> (yellow and pink though, not red).
> Paper scrapbook things-anything scrapping related to transfers, stickers
> (love peel and stick embellishments like tags, anything related to nature,
> flowers, roses) quotes.
> Flower embellishments
> Rubber Stamps (really need some of those!)family, children, nature, friendship or pictures.
> small Metal embellishments
>Anything that can be used for art journaling.

If you are intrested in either swap/trade, please leave me a comment or email me at bouncingbonbonatgmaildotcom. and I will get back to you and we can discuss further.
PLEASE only respond if you are serious about the trade and won't change your mind as I have had a few bad experinces in which I have sent parcels out to others and they in turn did not send me theirs as promised and avoided all email /blog contact after that too. Very rude and dishonest. I would never do that to someone.

I also wanted to tell you that at the site where I sell my designs we have 7 challenges (monthly) running. They are great. I host three of them. The prize is a whole kit- the kit is divided up into 7 links-one link per challenge completed. so if you want the whole kit you need to all 7 challenges. Each month is a new kit to grab. This month's one co-ordinates with the free daily download from the blog.

So go on join up and join in the challenges! They are fun!
Thanks and have a good day!

Decoupage and lay outs

I love it when I can just get stuck into things and get them done and look back and think, "Wow, did I do all of that in just two days??" . It makes you feel so satisfied and content and um...erm...a bit proud that you achieved so much!!
This weekend I got a lot done.

Last week I went and did some craft shopping. I got a huge stack of decoupage serviettes, some frames, a peg rail, a plain green wreath and some blank coasters.
I used the original stuff I made (which turned into my Heart and Soul digital kit)to do this frame pieced for my bedroom. (it says "True love can only be found when nothing is looked for in return")

Then I had these two blank frames which I just did two little cherubs on

They are for my study, sort of fascinated with the whole cherub thing at the moment!
As you can see by this huge poster above my table!

I bought this peg rail from a craft shop, whipped on some paint and did some decoupage on that too. It's for my study too.

Then I made this wreath, bought the plain wreath and added flowers and birds. But I am going to get more flowers I just ran out. It has none on the back! Lol. When I have the peg rail up it will hang on that, for now it is suspended from my light!
And lastly this cupboard...I've had it for about 8 or 9 years now and have always loved it, but it looked a bit boring. So I thought I would be brave, painted it and did some decoupage on it with Cath Kidson serviettes. I must say I LOVE the result, it looks so cute!!
